Centre for Clinical Research in Neuropsychiatry (CCRN)

About us

Centre for Clinical Research in Neuropsychiatry (CCRN) was created in 1994 as a joint initiative between the University of Western Australia’s School of Psychiatry & Clinical Neurosciences, the Executive of Graylands Hospital, and the Department of Health in Western Australia.

It is a specialised research facility funded and jointly operated by UWA School of Psychiatry and Clinical Neuroscience and North Metropolitan Area Health Service (NMAHS) Mental Health.

Our studies are approved by the North Metropolitan Area Mental Health Service Ethics Committee and by the Human Research Ethics Committee of the University of Western Australia.

CCRN is a collaborating centre for research and training in mental health with the World Health Organization (external link).

We are located in Gascoyne House at Graylands Hospital. Additional CCRN laboratory facilities are also available at:

  • Western Australian Institute of Medical Research
  • Medical Research Foundation Building at Royal Perth Hospital
  • Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre
