Role
The Information Management and Reporting Directorate has two major roles.
- The management and development of Western Australia’s statewide health data resources and dissemination of information from them.
- Add value to the health system through the analysis of key data of past activity, and reporting on health system performance.
The Directorate works collaboratively with WA Health Services and related groups to investigate and assess health and health service issues in Western Australia. The Directorate also works closely with other State and Australian Government agencies and with tertiary and other institutions.
The information managed by the Directorate is used for health service planning, management and monitoring. It is also used to meet health system funding, performance reporting obligations and for health research.
