Data Collections and Analysis - Statutory and Non-Admitted  

Role

The Data Collections and Analysis Branch - Statutory and Non Admitted manages and develops statewide, centralised statistical data collections and registers for the Department of Health.

The major data collections are the Emergency Department and Outpatients, Cancer Registrations and Midwives Notifications. Other data collections include abortion notifications, reproductive technology and rehabilitation and Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) performance indicators.

The branch provides a service to internal departmental clients, external users, including government and researchers, and members of the public.
 
The Department of Health is signatory to the Australian Health Care Agreement and the National Health Information Agreement and is required to meet related reporting obligations. The branch reports on Emergency Departments, Outpatients data and Rehabilitation and GEM performance indicators as part of these obligations.

The branch facilitates access to data for approved users and has responsibility for ensuring confidentiality of personal health information.
