Data Linkage

New to Using Linked Data?

What we do

The Western Australia Data Linkage System (WADLS) holds the links between the Department of Health core population health data sets. It also facilitates links to approved external research and clinical datasets for special research projects. Data Linkage WA manages and maintains the WADLS and facilitates access to linked data for a range of clients.

The linkages between these data sources are created using rigorous, internationally accepted, privacy preserving protocols, probabilistic matching and extensive clerical review by a small dedicated team of Data Linkage Officers. The essentials include access to personal identifying information for linkage, while the actual health details are stored and managed separately.
