Delivering a Healthy WA
Health Reform Implementation Taskforce (HRIT)

Service improvement and innovation

The reform program has resulted in a significant shift towards providing more patient-centric care, doing new things and doing things differently to achieve better outcomes for patients and staff.

These innovations have improved clinical practice, management and administrative processes in a number of areas across the system. They have also contributed to better quality of work life for staff involved.

A key element for WA Health to successfully achieve ongoing change is to establish and support a culture of constant improvement that gives staff the opportunity, authority and ability to recommend and implement changes that improve their workflow and the system overall.

In WA Health, innovation is directed at getting better health outcomes, being more efficient and cost effective in giving the patient a better experience.
