WA Health Disability Access and Inclusion Policy
The WA Health Disability Access and Inclusion Policy has been amended to align with changes to the Disability Services Commission (DSC) reporting structure for WA Health, and to clarify responsibilities for Chief Executives, managers and employees.
Section 5 (Reporting) of the policy indicates that in accordance with the Western Australia Disability Services Act 1993, Chief Executives will submit Disability Access and Inclusion Plans (DAIPs) and provide annual achievement reports (due 31 July) to DSC from the following health entities:
DAIPs are developed in consultation with the community and employees of WA Health and are intrinsic in meeting the overall corporate objective of ensuring safety and quality in health services.
The policy highlights the roles and responsibilities of Chief Executives and Executive Directors:
WA Health is committed to ensuring that people with disability, their family and carers are able to fully access the range of health services, facilities and information available in the public health system.
