Application of Industrial Instruments

The Director Workforce Directorate is authorised to determine the proper application of industrial instruments which apply to:

  1. the Minister for Health incorporated as the board of the hospitals formerly comprised in the Metropolitan Health Service Board, under s7 of the Hospitals and Health Services Act 1927 (WA).
  2. the Minister for Health incorporated as the WA Country Health Service, under s7 of the Hospitals and Health Services Act 1927 (WA).
  3. the Minister for Health incorporated as the South West Health Board, under s7 of the Hospitals and Health Services Act 1927 (WA).

Copies of the major industrial instruments are maintained by the Labour Relations Branch and can be accessed at http://www.health.wa.gov.au/awardsandagreements/.

Determinations may be issued as Department of Health Operational Circulars or otherwise in writing as the circumstances require. Health Services will act in accordance with the determinations made.

Prior to issuing a determination the Director Workforce will consult with relevant stakeholders within Health Services and Departmental Divisions.

Nothing in this Circular limits the capacity of the Director Workforce Directorate, or other officers who may from time to time be authorised by the Director, to provide ad hoc advice on questions of the proper application of industrial instruments or related industrial matters.
